Hello everyone, just thought you might like to know what's selling big this year:
10 - Klutz Star Wars Folding Planes $29.95
Like all Klutz books, the Star Wars Folded Flyers book is much more than a toy. This big-format softcover explains the finer points of paper aeroplane construction and operation, as well as background on the Star Wars space vehicles. The book features six different models. In addition to Han Solo’s baby, there’s a Naboo Starfighter, a Jedi Starfighter, a BTL-B Y-Wing, a TIE Advanced X1, and a T-65 X-Wing.
The flyers themselves are made using full color pages that you tear out along the perforated line, trim a bit with scissors, and fold. You get five copies of each model, for a total of 30 flyers. While the finished products look complicated, between the illustrations in the book, and the lines and colored markings on the pages themselves, the many steps involved are hard to mess up. It takes about 15 minutes to put the Millennium Falcon together and ready it for its test flight.
Great for playing with Dad on Boxing Day
9 - Janod Musical Instruments from $7.95
These instruments, from France's number one traditional toy maker, are great. The Ukelele was featured in the Sunday Mail last Sunday - we sell it cheaper than they price they quoted.
8 - GeoMag Gbaby sets from $23.95
Swiss-made Gbaby uses ultra-safe materials, have simple ergonomic forms, helping infants develop their motor skills, sound and touch senses. Pieces provide a rattling sound when shaken and attract or repel as if by magic, delighting infants from 10 months and up! Soft touch edges and animals are also well suited for teething. All pieces are hermetically sealed, thereby doubling as a bath toy with the added bonus of being dishwasher safe for easy cleaning.
Here's a video of how they work:

7 - Klutz Spiral Draw $29.95
A fresh new spin on a classic drawing activity. This book's four sturdy plastic drawing wheels make it remarkably fun to create perfectly swirly spiral designs. Use the included color-changing gel pens to add depth to your spirals, giving them a uniquely 3-D look. The book is packed with draw-right-on-the-page ideas and cool craft projects to do with the spectacular spirals you make. It will have you going around in circles — and loving it. This book includes rubber "feet" on the plastic drawing base that contain Natural Rubber Latex which may cause allergic reactions.

Introducing the fabulous new Pumponator. Christmas Champagne Shopping Evenings
It’s that time of year again (already!!) and following the success of last year’s evening, we are will be holding another couple of Champagne Shopping Evenings. The first is Thursday November 15th, the second will be two weeks later on November 29th.
The idea behind the evenings is to make the whole Christmas shopping process as pain-free as possible. We’ll have some sparkling wine, soft drinks and nibbles so you can come along without the kids in tow, meet other local mums and have a relaxing evening doing your shopping safe in the knowledge that you wont need to madly search for a car park at Carindale on Christmas Eve, battle the hordes in K-Mart or stay up to the wee hours on Christmas morning assembling and wrapping.
In addition to the normal free wrapping, we are offering free assembly and free local delivery (to Balmoral, Hawthorne, Bulimba and Morningside) and we’ll have some special offers and surprises on the night too. We’ll have in the new Christmas stock by then and if you want to order anything that isn’t in-store on the evening, there will still be plenty of time to guarantee delivery before Christmas.
We have limited spots so if you’d like to come along, please either drop in to the shop or send us an email (crackerjack.info@gmail.com) registering your interest and tell us what evening you want to come along to, how many of you there will be and leave us a phone number.

Kidimoto Balance Bikes
We are really excited about these new balance bikes that we've got in from Kiddimoto.
We've got Cherry, Polka Dot and for all those budding Bradley Wiggins's out there, a mod-scooter version. There are also versions including those featuring a Union Jack, Italian Flag and Stars and stripes (see images at the bottom of the page) available to order. You wont find a cooler bike!!
If you'd like to order one of these, give us a call or come in to the shop to see them and find out about availability. The bikes also come with matching helmets and gloves and we can order those for you if you'd like (again, see down the bottom for photos).
Knee Down Training on a Kiddimoto
What is a balance bike??
Balance bikes are a great way to teach your child balance and coordination from an early age. They are basically normal bikes without peddles or brakes and provide a safe and effective method to provide freedom and develop your child’s motor skills from around 18 months- six years. I personally think that these Kiddimoto ones are perfect for children around 3-5.
No Brakes!!!
Dont worry, young children can't manipulate a brake anyway and the way that balance bikes are designed, your child’s feet should be in close contact with the ground
Manufacturers of balance bicycles say that children can learn to bicycle faster because they learn to balance and countersteer first and then to pedal later, and that stabilisers slow learning because kids become too dependent on them, acquiring bad habits.

How do they work?
To function properly, a balance bicycle must be small enough that the rider can walk the bicycle while sitting comfortably in the saddle, putting both feet flat on the ground. The rider first walks the bicycle while standing over the saddle, then while sitting in the saddle. Eventually, the rider feels comfortable enough to run and "scoot" while riding the bicycle, then to lift both feet off the ground and cruise while balancing on the two wheels.
